I’m very pleased announce WASTE is going Spanish thanks to Merrick who volunteered to do a very nice Spanish translation of WASTE. Now your Spanish talking friends have no more excuses not to read it here :
Or here 🙂
If you happen to want to translate WASTE to your own language, you can contact me to get cleaned pages !
Today I began inking WASTE chapter 3. I have been pretty busy the past couple of months. I wasn’t expecting it and it’s far from finished…It’s funny how there’s always something in my way when it comes to manga.
However, today I put everything aside to begin inking chapter 3. This is the very first panel which is the most difficult, unusual and time consuming task when I begin inking a chapter…so I need to be mentally prepared before I do it, and to be honest, I can kill more time turning around the task than doing it…
The good thing is, when this is done, then all the rest comes by itself. It even becomes difficult to me to stop. So I believe I can finish this chapter before December…
However, I’m still taken by a lot of projects at the same time and I can’t garante anything. I’m sorry for those who wait for me and support my work. Hopefully I can soon dedicate myself more to manga.
As of Thursday, June 6 I have been entitled HMONP architect which means in France I can sign my own projects from now on.
I still work full time as an architect, but from now on I know I can spend most of my evenings on WASTE.
I’m actually working on chapter 3 of WASTE. I hope to release it much faster than chapter 2 which suffered HMONP + website programming delay.
I hope you’ll enjoy it !
The work done during this year to get entitled was very heavy on my shoulders and captivating. So captivating it was hard to draw aside from studying and working.
I’m really happy it’s done now. Especially since I can proudly say I succeeded…
Training a bit with painting and color…I want to add that in WASTE (opening pages etc…)
This is totally new to me, so I’m never sure to succeed. But I sure feel good when it works fine.
I’m actually pretty silent. That’s because I have my oral exam on June 3 to be empowered to be an independent architect.
That’s pretty time consuming. Once This is finished, I’ll finally be free again at night, so I can make WASTE progress (for real this time !).
Thanks for bearing with me !
I have a facebook account since a while. But I decided to create a page yesterday so you readers can manifest somewhere that you follow my stuff and so I know how many people are around exactly. It’s very difficult to me to have a clear sight.
I know lots of you did it by sending me mails and I enjoy every single one of them. That’s actually what makes me want to do better at every release. But just liking this page :
may be an even more efficient way to support me.
By liking my stuff you automatically spread it all around you. So if you want to give a hand on building WASTE and my stuff to come, I think this is the most effective way for now !
Hey guys !
Those who follow me on facebook will certainly think it’s a few days old…well it is but well, better late than never.
Here is what I doodle between 4 and 5 AM (waking up at 8 for work).
It is my very first GIMP try and I’m really happy with that software. Seems just awesome.
I recorded the time lapse so here it is !:
I’m glad I’m done with this font work…
there are still lots of things to do. I intend to try out new techniques based on 3D and to develop the new manga tengu website.
I’ll be doing this aside from drawing chapter 3 I hope !
Recently I’ve had font issues. So I decided to make my own.
Up you can see my font.
Down the old one.
It’s still on work. Those who want to give feedback are welcome !
I was thinking about that digital painting stuff during lunch break today but there is no graphic tablet in my agency, so I tried to simulate it with a pencil by drawing very quick shapes not finishing anything.
Then I remembered I got that Pentel GFKP in my pocket for times like this…the whole process took something like 20 minutes. And I’m pretty happy with it.
It’s a line drawing of course, but I my approach was influenced by the digital painting experience I had yesterday…
I tried to give a sense to this creature, further than “it is a monster ! it has to be ugly !”.
So I imagined that it was a flying helium filled creature that would float (like starcraft’s overloards for example). Then I gave it those spiderlike eyes and those tongs as if it hunted birds like chameleon hunts insects…but I wanted it to be fast, like it could be a fierce hunter or a useful mount…so I tried to suggest some flie’s wings but the drawing was nearly done and I couldn’t erase it 🙂
Now you know why I called it Heliumite !
